OMEN by HP 15-dc1044nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi, I have an HP Omen 15 and I have a problem with the device's low volume. The problem started a few days ago when suddenly the speakers started to work quieter. Before, I had the volume at 20% and I had enough sound. Now I have to have at least 40-50% to hear as before. I don't know what to do, I've tried almost everything. I was reinstalling sound drivers, used HPSA and none of it helped! Please help me, I don't know what to do, my laptop is 2 times quieter than it used to be! I didn't change any sound settings or anything like that, I didn't modify anything, it happened automatically. Good sound from the laptop is only for the first 10-20 seconds after switching on, then the speakers play 2 times quieter!

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers, Firmware and BIOS for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you for reply but it didn't helped me.

I'm unistalled HPSA and Install the new HPSA (link sended from you)

I'm ran through HPSA to fix audio problems and it only fixed it -  ,,The audio format is not set to the default '' - FIXED, but  my sound is still weak, it didn't help.

I'm ran Windows Update and it's nothing. Any updates.

I restarted my laptop and I'm do it again and nothing, It didn't help.

The problem persists, the sound from the laptop is only good for 10-15 seconds, then it is half quieter.

Follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Go to “Device Manager”, -> “System Device”, find the “Intel ® Smart Sound Technology (Intel (R) SST) Audio Controller”, check the “Driver”, and click “update driver” to make it update to latest version
  2. Go to “Device Manager”, ->”System Device”, find the Intel ® Smart Sound Technology (Intel (R) SST) OED, check the “Driver”, and click “update driver” to make it update to the latest version.

And these 2 devices updated to the latest driver, please check and make sure they are the same driver version.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
