My laptop sound works fine until recently when totally no sound even the indication volume seem to be in the highest. I didn't install any software recently except prop some of those auto update by window. Any expert help? Thanks

@joezoecyrus Welcome to HP Community! here's what you need to know:
Audio devices might need to be disconnected from the computer during the troubleshooting process.
CAUTION:
Always follow manufacturer instructions for disconnecting USB devices from the computer. Some USB devices must be turned off and/or ejected before they are disconnected from the computer. Some other USB devices support the Windows Safely Remove Hardware feature.
Make sure Windows can produce sound from the speakers before using this article. If the computer cannot play sound from the speakers, choose one of the HP support documents below to resolve that issue:
The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

1) The cause is Windows 10 version 1903 update. - they simplified audio subsystem for complete software-based operation, while making system bus I/O more asynchronous and flexible at high loads... and some hardware-related limitations interfered with how older audio drivers work.
2)HP provides newer drivers, but not for Envy models. Envy drivers from March 2019 are crippled.
