@AD203, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Sound Settings:
Right-click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
Ensure the correct playback device is selected (e.g., speakers or headphones).
Device Manager Check:
Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Expand the Sound, Video, and Game Controllers section.
If there's a yellow triangle next to your audio driver, it could indicate an issue.
Right-click and try Update driver or Uninstall device, then restart your laptop to reinstall the driver.
Audio Troubleshooter:
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
Select Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix issues.
Check Audio Services:
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Scroll down to Windows Audio and ensure the service is running. If it's stopped, right-click and select Start.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
