I was having the exact same issue which caused some problems working from home, followed these instructions and it worked first time. Thanks!

Has anybody else had problems with their sound INput after doing this to resolve the OUTput problem? All of a sudden my laptop has completely stopped letting me speak to anyone via e.g. Zoom. There's just no sound going in, no matter what I do.

I tested mine just now and it was fine try going into your BIOS:

Steps

* press F10 at startup phase

* Select Enter BIOS from options

* go to tab boot

* select load default settings

* select save and exit

This might help this was the last thing I did before I ran the clean up.

Have the same problem, Have 15z-100 new. Download driver 10.0.19041.264. The driver 10.0.1.12 don't work any more. Only thing now the B & O audio is not supported. I believe they have to update the driver for that.

All The Way

The problem is experienced in 1909 and 2004 versions of Windows.

The current bios version (F.42) must be installed first. Then, after installing Realtek 6.0.8940.1 version, the problem can be solved.

Bios: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp100501-101000/sp100645.exe

Realtek: https://archive.org/download/realtek-hda-v-6.0.8967.1-20-h-1.-tamarsiv.net/Realtek-HDA-v6.0.8967.1-2...

If not, the driver can be cleaned and reinstalled again with the Amd Cleanup Utility application.

It was tried in both steps. The problem is solved in both steps.

I guess this update caused an update via windwows update.

this worked for the sound but now my display is dim. how do i fix that?

After running Amd Cleanup Utility and restarting your device, you need to download the automatic driver finder application from https://www.amd.com/en/support page and install the recommended driver.
