Hello everyone,

First post so hope I don't do anything wrong.

I have recently had an update from AMD to Adrenalin 2020. After this update installed automatically, and the computer restarted, I have lost all audio.

I am unable to install any Realtek audio drivers on my laptop. AMD has automatically updated the graphics driver, and at the same time (maybe a coincidence?) done something preventing me installing Realtek HD Audio Manager. I have done every step of troubleshooting including BIOS update and BIOS restart as well as Windows 10 fresh install (without deleting my files) with no success. I have spent 24hours+ Google searching and forum browsing on both HP and Microsoft sites for additional help with no success. Realtek driver installer generates multiple error codes, including "0xE0000246". When trying to add Legacy Software in Device Manager, I get an error stating "cyclic redundancy error". Is there anything other than a full system reset and wipe and fresh start that can resolve this?

I must add that when doing a Hardware test using HP Help Tools, I was successfully able to hear audio and hence passed the audio assessment which leads me to believe it is down to software.

Will doing a fresh Windows install that deletes "all apps and personal files" resolve this? I have tried going to the recovery point prior to this occurring but somehow this has become corrupted as it has failed to restore several times.

Any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance! If you need any further information, let me know and I will reply with it as quickly as I can! 😄
