Check for Compatibility Issues
- After the update, certain older drivers may not be compatible with Windows 10. If you're unsure which driver is causing the issue, check the Event Viewer for any error logs:
- Press Windows + X and select Event Viewer.
- Look under Windows Logs → System or Application for error logs that might give more insight into which device or driver is causing the issue.
Rollback Driver (if applicable)
- If the issue began immediately after updating a driver, you may want to roll back the driver to the previous version:
- In Device Manager, right-click the device and select Properties.
- Under the Driver tab, click Roll Back Driver (if available).
Reinstall Windows 10 or Perform a System Restore
- If the issue persists, and you believe the update has caused irreparable issues with drivers, you might consider performing a System Restore to a point before the update:
- Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and press Enter to open System Restore.
- Choose a restore point before the update occurred.
- Performing a Windows restore may result in data loss, as it reverts your system to a previous state, potentially overwriting or removing files and applications created after the restore point.
Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts
- Sometimes, third-party software (especially security or performance-related apps) can conflict with driver installation. Try disabling or uninstalling any recently installed software and see if it resolves the issue.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Check Device Manager for Missing Drivers
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.

- Right-click on the problematic device and select Update Driver. You can either search automatically for updated drivers or browse your computer for driver software.
Run Windows Update
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Update & Security and click on Check for updates. Ensure that all updates, especially driver updates, are installed.
Manually Install the Missing Drivers
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your system model. Ensure you select the correct version for Windows 10.
- Once downloaded, install the drivers manually by running the installer or updating them via Device Manager by selecting "Browse my computer for driver software."
Use the Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters.
- Run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices, or any other relevant troubleshooters that may apply (e.g., network, sound, display).
