Hello,

I have been troubleshooting this for the past couple of hours and I cannot find a solution that works. I updated my laptop today through windows update. This included driver updates, windows updates and bios updates. After everything was finished, I noticed that I no longer have any device audio. Bluetooth devices work fine, but the computer isn't recognizing any of its internal speakers, nor is it recognizing any device in the aux port.

What troubleshooting was done:

  • Ran windows diagnostics
  • Downloaded and ran drivers for audio, chipset, bios
  • Downloaded HP hardware diagnostic tool (does not troubleshoot because it cannot find the devices)
  • Hard power cycled the machine.
  • Reset Windows (audio came back, but then disabled again after windows update)
  • Attempted to install Realtek audio drivers again.
  • Restarted audio services on windows
  • Attempted Device manager hardware scans

It seems as if my machine is still unable to discover any hardware devices for my audio output. In my Device Manager, there is no Sound section listing any devices. When I go to the control panel -> sounds. There is no audio devices listed there either.

I have looked at other posts in this thread related to machines named similarly to mine and saw audio drivers listed in there and attempted to install those with no luck.

As an additional note, the Bang & Olufsen Audio Control application does not start up, and instead reads: "Can not connect to RPC Service"

I am at my wits end on how to try to solve this, and any help getting past this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
