HP Pavilion 16-a0076ms
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi community,

I recently purchased my brand new HP Pavilion Gaming 16-a0076ms Laptop and noticed that whenever I use my headphones via the headphone jack, there is this crackling/popping sound in the left headphone that happens every once in a while. I noticed it happens when I mute/unmute computer audio, open an application that would be using audio, and just random intermittent popping sounds caused by nothing. One way I found to mitigate this is to restart the computer; that fixed the problem until I put it to sleep and/or shut it down, and when I turn it back on the issue persists. I checked my audio driver and it was at the latest version, but I downloaded and reinstalled it anyway in hopes of a change but no luck. Do keep in mind that I tried this with 2 pairs of headphones and both have the same issue, and I have tried going into sound manager and altering some of the checkboxes in properties and so far nothing has helped. Another thing to note is this doesn't happen when using the laptop's built-in speakers.

I would appreciate any help and thanks in advance,

Matthew

@, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi,

That didn't do anything. I already have all the latest drivers and version of Windows. Still haven't found a way to fix it but it seems like I'm apparently not the only one that has this issue on an HP Pavilion 16. Seems to be an issue with High DPC Latency according to LatencyMon?

Hi @matthew3103,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
