ProBook Conexant Audio driver setup problem on W7

This notebook come with Windows 8.1 but i need to install windows 7.

After windows setup i installed all driver but the conexant audio driver doesn`t install.

I try all version of driver and some software as SlimDriver but nothing work. If i try to install driver manually, i obtain a bluescreen.

Help me please!

what you should do is:

1. update bios.

2.enter updated bios(f10) go to advanced and in build-in device options, uncheck Intel® Smart Sound Technology.

3.load os, go to device manager and remove the unkonw audio device and refresh the device manager, the os will automaticly install the driver.

thats it, your sound should work now

We got the same problem on this computers under Windows 10 where i work at Tibble Gymnasium TFG AB

any tips of things i can try to test and do?

For me (ProBook 440 G3) this worked even without BIOS update - just unchecked Intel Smart Audio in BIOS and then uninstalled unknown Audio device in Device Manager. After restart the sound appeared. I had installed sp73979.exe before.

We got help from  Mathias Lager at the Swedish HP support to find the right drivers and such so it works for us nos aswell 🙂

hello, can please help me to say which audio Driver you have Installed ?
