I have the exact same issue on my Envy 15 ep0008. Used to work great. It's next to useless now. I've done all the usual suggestions with all the driver updates etc etc. No improvement. Plugged in and bluetooth devices work fine.

I reset my entire laptop and it did not work. Still have the fading.
However, I changed a few settings and this seems to have worked. This is what I did:
1. go to sound settings -> sound control panel
2. select speaker -> configure button -> next -> tick the box for Front left and right on "full-range speaker" screen -> next -> finish
3. select speaker -> advanced tab -> untick everything -> apply
4. communications tab -> select "do nothing"
5. Re-boot. Profit.
This seems to have worked so the sound is not fading down. I'm not sure which specific thing fixed it, but I know that doing only the advanced settings did not fix it for me, so apply all the changes and it should work.
Edit: Spoke to soon. It has gone back to fading.....

Hi, when I try to do a Cloud Restore, it says that the Product ID is invalid. It auto-detects it and says it is invalid. So I tupe it in and it is still invalid. Please help.
The prodict ID on the screen is the same as printed underneath the laptop.
