This is going to be a long post so bear with me and thanks for your patience 🙂

So there is no audio coming out of my right earphone. I have confirmed that it is the laptop and not the earphones as

1) These earphones work on other devices

2) Other headsets/earphones are having the same issues

- I've checked if the audio was balanced - it is (supposedly)

- I have the latest update of the audio driver (Conexant ISST Audio)

- I have reinstalled it

- I have restarted my laptop several times

- I did a hard reset

- I did a factory reset

- I did this BIOS thing (I'm not a massive tech guy here)

- I tried to troubleshoot the problem using Windows (nothing detected)

- I tried to do the same using HP Solutions (nothing detected)

I know it should be able to work because if I slowly pull out the earphones from the jack, for a split second you can hear audio from both ears but when I replug it, the issue resurfaces. Please help me out here... I feel like I'm going deaf in one ear.

Hi @Nickqq

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Appreciate you trying the steps. This looks like a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
