Single Audio Port Splitter

HP Recommended
HP Stream
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Bought a new HP Stream a few days ago.

Bought an audio splitter, brand kingtop model kh-019, to have separate input and output 3.5mm ports from the single audio 3.5mm port.

Just opened and charged and connected the new HP Stream.

******* The HP Stream does not recognize the connected splitter.

When I remove the splitter from the audio port, the HP Stream does not recognize the microphone when the microphone is plugged in to the audio port.

When I remove the microphone from audio port, the HP Stream does not recognize the headphones when they are plugged in to the audio port.

It is essential for me to get the single audio port to separate an input 3.5mm port and an output 3.5mm port.

I am surprised that the new splitter was not recognized.

How can I accomplish this?
