Saturday ( yesterday ) I happily received my new Spectre x360 ( with Kaby Lake i7 ).
When I wanted to play music or a video, I became less happy.
I have been trying for more than 6 hours to get my music volume in a normal state.
1. I play a music or a video, for example on youtube
2. The first few seconds, the sounds is good, then the volume turns down
3. I can only hear the sound very very soft
I have tried all suggested options I read here on the the forum like the thread B&O Audio: Sound Fades on Laptop Speakers https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/B-amp-O-Audio-Sound-Fades-on-Laptop-Speakers/td-p/57231...
I have tried to reinstall drivers, download other versions and tried to install. I upgraded BIOS and I even resetted the whole laptop, no luck

I do believe it is a driver problem. I see different models spectre and I also noticed people with an omen or envy with Ban& Olufsen speakers having same issue.
I wonder if the problem is going to be fixed soon. Therefor I am thinking to return laptop as it is still few days old, but rest of the laptop is great, so fixing the sound would be my preferred option.
Is there anyone having the solution ....correct driver? ( 6.0.1.7922 was the default installed and latest for spectre, I also found 6.0.1.7930, both have the same issue ).
[UPDATE] I thought to try my headphones and see it was playing correct. After removing headphones, Bang&Olufsen internal speakers also play correct. I can't believe such a switching fixed the issue. So for anyone facing same issue, it may help switch speakers 🙂 ( Still not sure if problem is fixed for good and issue might still be driver related?! )

When restarting the laptop problem came back with me.
So I called HP support and 2nd call I had some one who knew the fix.
It seems some laptops have a calibration problem. He ran some executable call Clear0.exe and since then problem is solved.
I did a search and I guess same solution is described here ( Clear0.exe )
I can also provide you the exe, but might be better if laptop is still under warranty and so, to call hp support and let them fix it.

I had the exact same issue and as described above I went through all the steps of removing and reinstalling drivers. At the end of that process simply plugging headphones in and the unplugging them seemed to correct the issue for now. Hopefully it works long term.
