OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1001nl
Microsoft Windows 11

I experienced "beeping problems" at start-up, but after working on it I noticed that the beeping was essentially related to a generic  "beeping sound" whenever I was playing audio from my laptop's internal speakers.

Important note: The audio works perfectly with headphones, which indicates that the problem only affects the internal speakers. I don't think it's a hardware problem as the speakers were working perfectly until a few days ago.
Also: HP Hardware diagnostic and HP Support report no problems.

This makes me think of a BIOS or HP firmware-related problem, a failed update or incorrect system configuration, or possible conflicts with audio drivers and the motherboard.

---

Diagnosis and resolution attempts:

Software and driver updates:
- I checked Windows Update and downloaded the latest updates.
- I reset the BIOS.

Checking and reinstalling audio drivers:
- I checked the audio devices in Device Manager, where they were present:
Realtek(R) Audio
Intel Smart Sound Technology
NVIDIA High Definition Audio

Steam Streaming Speakers:
- I uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek HD Audio driver (sp138894.exe), but the speakers still didn't work (beep).

Checking the audio settings:
- I set ‘Speaker (Realtek(R) Audio)’ as the default.
- I checked that the speakers were not muted or hidden.
- I changed the audio quality (mmsys.cpl → 16bit/44100Hz) but no improvement.

Since the problem persists, I assumed it was a software conflict or Windows error. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When it was normal yesterday your laptop windows also windows 11?
Because from the official HP website, your audio driver is only available for windows 10.

Try to show the hardware id of your Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology and Realtek(R) Audio drivers.

maybe you should also rollback the driver like @maurice33 did in his thread.
