HP Pavilion 14-ba094sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi:

I replaced the SSD in my Pavilion today.  It was a bit fiddley as this particular SSD (for some bloody reason) was on the underside of the motherboard.  After figuring out how to do this, I had a new SSD with a cloned copy of my previous SSD on it, reconnected everything and powered up.

Everything works EXCEPT sound.  Whenever I want sound, all I get is a quiet "clicking" sound.  Checked the drivers and all seems OK.  I even tested with a set of Samsung Buds and they work.  Just not the speaker.

Whilst this is not a major issue....  it is an annoyance.

Is it possible that I've buggered something during my SSD upgrade?

@Darth-Kane
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Are you seeing any exclamation mark or red X on speaker icon?
  • Are you able to see speaker device in device manager?
  • What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?

Keep me posted for further assistance
