Speakers seem really quiet and bounce from quiet to loud?

Omen 15-CE0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I purchased my Omen 15 laptop around 2 years now, and I have noticed that the audio has been really quiet. I'm noticing it more now but now that I think about it, I think the audio has always been very, very quiet, even when turned up to about 100, it's still a struggle to hear anything unless I'm in a completely silent room.

Recently however, the audio also seems to do this thing where it will be really quiet and then suddenly get much louder, and the audio seems to bounce up and down like this. I don't know what is causing this sudden jump in volume when I'm not altering the audio or turning it up or down or anything.

Does anybody know what could be causing this? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to technology so any advice would be helpful!

@jaidu347

Please perform a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

   (a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
                      https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-104000/sp103883.exe

   (b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
   (c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
   (d) Reboot again.

Regards.

Hi again,

I tried doing this but unfortunately this doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. My audio is still really quiet and the sound continues to jump. Is there something else I could try?

Thanks!
