HP Envy 15 ah150na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a strange problem with hissing popping and static from the speakeres when I either watch video or play games. I have read and tried several fixes from both these forums and others.

I have updated realtek audio drivers

Changed to Windows 10 default HD audio driver

Changed min processor state to 100%

Bios is up to date.

updated video drivers

Even stranger is that if I remove the power cable I generally do not get the problem. I also tried matching plugged in and battery power settings (incl advanced) but it doesnt make any difference.

Would appreciate some help as it is very distracting.

Thanks
Matt

@Mattmids

Please do a clean install Audio softeware/driver, this should help.

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500/sp92073.exe
   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74368.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Do the first one first, you machine may be a bit old you may have to use the second one.

Regards.
