Static noise on my new labtop

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently purchased a new blue colored HP Notebook labtop from Best Buy and when I turned it on today, I heard ample static background noise. I know that I should only hear the computer fan/ motor running and not the extra noise. I spent nearly $500 on this thing and I'm wondering if I should take it back. To give a visual, it kind of reminds me of the old school AOL white noise of static from back in the day. Can someone please advise. 😕

Thanks,

-AmberT

Hey @AmberT

The great thing about the Support Forums is that here you can find solutions, suggestions and have an abundant amount of access to helping hands! I understand that you are having an issue with a static noise coming from your new HP Notebook - 15-ay015dx.

As it is hard for me tell you exactly what the issue may be without physically seeing/hearing the noise,  I would suggest using the following link to create yourself a case number:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately and give you further advice on returning the product or walk through troubleshooting with you.
