The Headphone/Mic combo jack won't work when pluggin in a earbud

Product Name: HP Pavilion 15-au193sa
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I plugged in my phone earbud, played music and only the speakers were working, checked device manger and it said the earbud wasn't plugged in. 

 

Do i need to get a adapter?  If adapter any recommdations 

Or 

Is there any other solution?

Hi! @JeswinRoy, Welcome to HP forums.

 

I understand that when you connect the Headphone to your PC it plays only one side.

 

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

 

Have you Tried a different set of headphones on your PC and does it work?
Have you made sure the connector is plugged all the way into the jack?
Have you Checked the audio balance: it is set to the middle?
Does the audio play normally through the built-in speakers?

 

However, you the try the steps mentioned below.
Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> manage audio devices>under the playback tab click on the device you're using from the list shown> properties> levels>balance> you should see two sliders for the left and right side of your headset See if any one of them is on muted.
