Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I bought my HP laptop from Best Buy in September 2021.  It has only been a few months and it is a new laptop and there are already audio/volume issues.  I mainly use the laptop for work purposes. Recently, The audio/volume on my HP Laptop will randomly turn on and off without me pressing anything. The mute button on my key board will light up orange. This issue will come and go randomly. For a period of time the audio will work and then it proceed to randomly turn on and off. It will mute and unmute all on its own.   It is very difficult to participate in video conferencing calls for work or to even play music or watch videos.   I do not know what the issue is.  I have tried checking the control panel and to see if something is wrong with the audio settings.  I have tried restarting the computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio driver.   It seems to be an issue with the Realtek Audio speaker.  I do not know if it is a hardware issue and if I will have to return it to HP directly for it to be repaired.

Even took it back to Best Buy to have a Geek Squad staff take a look at it and it does not seem to work still even after he tried.  Does anyone know what the issue could be? Does anyone have similar issues ?   I would really appreciate any help, tips or resources to fix this.

-Mike

@MK125 -- some touchpads have a "virtual slider" along the right-hand edge of the touchpad, to control the volume, and/or to "mute".

So, as an experiment, disable the touchpad, and connect a USB mouse, to see if the issues vanish.
