Product: HP M34d WQHD Curved

I just got myself the HP M34D Curved monitor, but I'm encountering an issue with the internal speaker. No matter how much I adjust the volume in the monitor settings, it doesn't seem to decrease. I'm using a type C display cable to connect the monitor to my MacBook Pro with Apple M1 Pro. Can you help me figure out what I might be missing here?
