HP ENVY 16 inch Laptop PC 16-h0000 (67T91AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Product: ENVY OLED Touch 16-h0028TX (Part# 6J2T9PA)

Problem: Two front firing speakers alongside keyboard are not audible

DESCRIPTION:

This laptop(16-h0028TX (Part# 6J2T9PA)) has a quad speaker system by Bang & Olufsen. Two speakers are at bottom and other two are front-firing alongside keyboard. When I play any audio, I can hear sound from the pair located at bottom but not from the front-firing pair.

I have updated the audio driver and BIOS and also checked the sound settings in control panel but no success.

Is there anyone who owns a similar product (Quad speakers)?

Do anyone has any clue about this problem ?

Please let me know your views.22c1_hayden_everythingacreatorneeds

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that a couple of speakers are not working on notebook, I am glad to assist you.

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

  • HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
  • Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  • Click Updates in the My notebook pane
  • Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  • Updates list in HP Support Center
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

  • Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

@Usrx what did you end up finding. If I disable the Cirrus Amps in the device manager I do have very high frequency tweeters playing from the top "speakers". I assume this is the design, based on the space available with the fan intake on the left and the ports on the right. They are technically "speakers", but barely.

@Energyx That's true. HP has used low quality, substandard speakers in this premium laptop. Cirrus Amplifiers are there just to compensate for the low quality speakers and amplify the signal to produce more loudness. Cirrus amplifiers are there just to save on costs. Poor quality speakers plus amplifiers is their replacement to quality speaker system. I do not get any clarity while listening music with these. HP has compromised with the quality. It's a huge injustice to customer, spending his savings and paying premium price for this poor audio experience.
