HP Notebook 15

I know I am using Windows 10 but not sure which version.

So I bought a pair of PowerBeats Pro.  Under Settings they sync up and are recognized by bluetooth devices.  It shows that they are paired on my computer, and when I connect them, they do not stay connected.  They will stay connected for under a minute, but audio does not go through them.  Then they become disconnected, so then I push the connect button again, and they will connect for a bit, but do not stay connected.  I am unable to play audio through them at all.  I know they work, because they work with my phone.  I have turned them off and on, I have turned my computer off and on, I have updated my laptop and I have removed the device from my computer multiple times and then resynced them.  And they still do not work.

Under control panel, then hardware and sound, then manage audio devices, it says that my power beats pro are disconnected, even when they are showing they are connected under settings.  I then right click and try and connect them, but that does not work.  I am unable to even set them as a device to listen through because they constantly show that they are disconnected under control panel.

I am not that good with computers, so any help needs to be given in really easy terms.  Thank you ahead of time!!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you tried with a different Bluetooth device?
  • Check the wireless communication settings? Airplane mode on?

You can confirm your computer has Bluetooth device or not by going into Device Manager, look for Bluetooth or Bluetooth Radios in the list.
If Bluetooth does not display, your computer does not support it.

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Next, uninstall Bluetooth device from device manager.

  1. Use shortcut keys Win + X on Windows 10.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Expand the entry. Right-click the Bluetooth device and select Uninstall device.
  4. You may need to check the option Delete the driver software for this device, and then click the Uninstall button.
  5. Reboot the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
