HP ENVY x360 - 15m-cn0011dx Product3VU72UA

As we know this is a high-end latop with B&O speakers 🙂

What I am not able to do is use the volume mixer icon in the taskbar near the clock to choose whether I want the audio output to be via the speakers OR via the wired headphones -> so each time I want to make a zoom call I have to plug in my headphones, and then when I want to listen to the music then I need to unplug them. This is frustrating and also not good for the hardware

I had a much cheaper and older HP from work until last week and in that I could choose which one to output the audio from via the volume icon in the taskbard and I did not need to constantly keep unplugging the headphone 10 times a day!

Please let me know how I can do that on my HP Envy x360.

@MarcLee

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

You can either right-click the speaker icon in your notification area and then select “Open Sound Settings” or navigate to Settings > System > Sound. In the Sound settings, scroll down to the “Other Sound Options” section, and then click the “App Volume And Device Preferences” option.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “
