Example: Envy x360(ryzen 5 4500u)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

so I just bought this laptop literally less than a week ago, so I've just been slowly updating it, then boom! Today while I was trying out some games it just stopped putting out sound. then soon after it became laggy, especially when opening music apps and settings. Now when i click on a song it doesn't even react. other apps work well, but no audio whatsoever.

That could be  something to do with AMD drivers. Please

    (a) Uninstall Audio driver

    (b) do a cleanup using following information/fix:

                https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

                https://drivers.amd.com/drivers/amdcleanuputility.exe

   (c) reboot machine

Machine will re-install Audio driver for you.

Regards.
