hi i can't record sound from a dj mixer to my HP laptop from the headphones input, i thought it was bipolar.

i used Sony Sound Forge 13 and 14 and also Audacity. 

am i doing something wrong?

For the Software related issue with the DJ mixer, I would suggest contacting the software manufacture.
