What is your machine ? Please try a clean install Audio driver
1. Download https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp156001-156500/sp156210.exe and save on your computer
2. Use Device Manager to uninstall audio driver (if any),
3. Reboot machine,
4. Install downloaded file above,
5. Reboot machine.

Change your laptop OS to ChromeOS.
Your laptop is a senior laptop that is no longer supported by Windows. In the online store in my country, the laptop is installed using ChromeOS. The price is also very cheap.

If you still want to use Windows OS for your Chromebook laptop, then you have to buy a license for the audio driver.
