no speakers or mic detected also Bang Olufsen audio control panel not present

I have noticed the I no longer have any sound or mic - no speakers or mic detected speaker icon with red X

i have tried all the usual fixes driver reinstalls and also resetting laptop to factory default - no joy

Please do a clean install Audio software/driver, this should help.

   (a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
                 https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp104001-104500/sp104268.exe

   (b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver (Realtek) and reboot,
   (c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
   (d) Reboot again.

already tried that. retried again No Joy

still no speakers or headphones plugged in

also

speaker settings (Unknown) and OFF

also

troubleshoot stating check connections (no chance of that as will need to take laptop apart looking increasingly like a hardware issue
