Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know how to disable the touchpad as it is making a noise when you use the touchpad.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Is the noise coming from the touchpad? (Mechanical noise)

Meanwhile, I recommend you disable touchpad going to the device manager and right click on the touchpad driver and select disable.

Or you can disable touchpad when a mouse is connected. Here is how it is done.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Click on Devices.
  3. Click on Touchpad.
  4. Under "Touchpad," uncheck the Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected option.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for the reply!

I do not want to disable the touchpad but I want to disable the noise when tapping. The noise is comming from the area left of the touchpad when I tab, not from the touchpad itself. You can clearly hear a speaker of something of that nature. If I touch this left area and tab you can even feel it. It like some one knokking on the insite.

Hope you can help!

Thank you for the information.

I recommend you contact support as it looks like a mechanical issue.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
