How to solve the problem of sound in HP Pavilion x2 10n-130ca installed Windows 10 build 1709.xxx? The system sees an Audio device, but the chipset driver (HP support site) does not solve the problem.

Hi,
There's Feb '18 bios available, so try updating to this revision first - it's on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp85001-85500/sp85176.exe
Note: Once the bios package has restarted the notebook, do not interrupt it in any way - the screen may stay black for some time and the machine may restart more than once - once complete, the notebook will load back into Windows.
When done, try installing the Chipset driver on the following link again.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74358.exe
When this has completed, restart the notebook and reinstall the Conexant software package on the link below once more
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74359.exe
When this has finished, restart the notebook.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download the Conexant HD Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74359.exe
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the Conexant device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver again on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74358.exe
When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder, right click on the Conexant installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again and let windows fully load for a few minutes before checking.

Thanks for the quick response.
In the device manager "Sound, video and game controllers" was a sound device: Conexant I2S Audio Codec.
There was a section: unknown devices: there were two unknown devices in it.
Next, I did everything as you wrote. (deleted Conexant I2S Audio Codec)... and so on.
After the final reboot:
- In the device manager "Sound, video and game controllers" again appearing audio device: Conexant I2S Audio Codec
- Again the section: unknown devices, there are two unknown devices in it.
- Problem still exists: The sound was not and did not become.
I suspect that HP does not have drivers for the latest Win10 builds.
It's a pity.

Hi,
It may be worth trying the earlier version of the Conexant driver on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72855.exe
Regarding the 'Unknown Devices', open Device Manager, right click on the problem device and select Properties. Click the Details tab, choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown box and post back with the details shown under Value for both the unknown devices.

Hi,
Can you post back with the current Bios revision of your notebook - you can usually get this by holding down the fn key and pressing esc.
