hey, im a new student, i bought the envy, even tho its more expensive then other laptops with better specs, i bought it cuz its small. and for its battery. +also for the 3 years warranty (that i see why it needs warranty)..... 😞
BUT- the first one i bought got replaced on the spot cuz it made tractor sounds from the fans. hp couldnt fix it, and to be honest, they sounds, when i buy a new mercedes, i dont drive from the dealership stright into the garage, right?
.
so i got a second one,the main problem is the sound, in the top left corner of the laptop, near where the touchpad is, (left down corner), i get once in few minutes very wierd sounds, i can try to describe them-its like the sounds you get from a hard drive/gramophone when its stick is simply scratching the disk/record.
and NO-I DO NOT HAVE A HDD, i have an SSD (so the sound aint from there).
i wanna know what the... is this sound, i bought a top tier HP laptop cuz i need it for university, not in order to send it to repairs! and of course- not in order to be anxiuos and in tension when these sounds will come and how bad they are!
.
the other problem is the battery, it lasts ok, but way lower then the 10-14 hours HP are talking about inthe prudoct page (and not even 8 hours). EDIT: as i was writing this, the laptop shut itself down at 10% battery! everytime it reaches 10% it shots down. why and how? why i have a 90% battery and not 100%!?
.
i really need someone to help me with that sound problem cuz it freaks me out! i spend lots of money on that! and i need it to study!
.
edit: i noticed the sound get much louder when i put the laptop on performence mode- in this mode, every touch of the touchpad- triggers that sound ive described erlier.
.
(All the time,NOTHING WAS PLUGGED IN TO THE LAPTOP, NO CHARGEE,NO MOUSE,NOTHING!

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are getting a weird noise from the computer very often.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
If you continue facing the issue, then install all the Windows updates (Including optional) and check.
Here is how it is done.
Open the Settings menu and go to Update & security > Windows Update. Click Check for updates to prompt your PC to scan for the latest updates. The update will be downloaded and installed automatically. Click Restart Now to restart your PC and complete the installation process.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!
Cheers
