Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

After the last Microsoft update

There is no sound on my PC and the system sound is muted. I will be grateful for any advice

PC is on ethernet

What I have done so far to fix this:

  1.  uninstalled last Microsoft update
  2. . ran audio test --> Failed
  3. ran system recovery before last Microsoft update --> successful recovery but no change
  4. Device driver> sound and audio> deleted all drivers> restart> --> no change system still muted
  5.  downloaded and ran the Malwarebytes tool --> no infection found

@hollyglaser

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. I did decode the failure ID and it refers to Audio Failure (unspecified) As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
