HP 15-ac100 Notebook PC series (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I get error code 0xc0000185 and a boot up error saying a hard drive is not installed when the hard drive is in the pc. How do I fix this? The last thing the PC was used for was YouTube and World of Warcraft and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. The computer just randomly crashed and keeps giving the same start up error. I have tried everything I can think of and nothing has fixed the issue. Someone please help because the AI for the support can't seem to help me.

@ChrisMQueen,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is not booting to Windows and you are getting a hard drive error.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you run a system test on the computer to make sure that there are no hardware issues. Follow the steps in the below article to run the system test.

If the system test pass, then I recommend you perform a system restore back to the date when everything was working fine following the steps in the below article.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
