Ive been having issues with a HP notebook of mine.. it just refuses to start! Ive tried the hard reset and tried using an alternative display as per the troubleshooting documents.
The LED illuminates on the power button when its pressed and the LED blinks on the caps lock key. I can also hear the cooling fan, but thats about it. No beeps, no POST no HDD or screen activity.
Im a bit dissapointed as its only had a few hundred hours of very very light use and its decided to fail 3 months outside of warranty
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, You may have to open the laptop and try removing the Cmos battery and turning the laptop on. If this works then shutdown the laptop then reinstall the cmos battery. if this dose not work, you might have to remove 1 stick of the memory to see if it will boot with 1 stick because, 1 stick might be bad. I actually had something like this happen to me last night, I took my laptop apart and then I rebuilt it and the caps lock blinked 2 times and I removed the cmos battery and it worked. I hope this works for you.

Hello, Ive not had the time to open the laptop until today. Sadly none of the above has solved my issue. Tried the CMOS battery and tried to boot having removed 1 stick of ram, then replaced that and removed the other.

Hi, When you removed the Cmos battery did you remove the laptop battery and the power cord and click the power button or hold it for 8 seconds then put the battery back in and power it up?
