Elitebook 2540p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a used 2540p that has the bios password active and I have no way to get it.  The processes outlined in:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Bios-password-reset-utility-for-elitebook-254...

and

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/How-to-clear-BIOS-admin-password-HP-Elite-2530p/td-...

Seems pretty straightforward but booting from usb is not enabled and from a CD doesn't seem to be either.  I scrounged a spare 1.8" micro sata drive to try installing the software on but I seem to be unable to find any utilities that will let me make it bootable so I can copy the utility over to it and try it.  Things like rufus won't recognize the micro sata drive attached to a host pc via usb.  Any help would be appreciated.
