When i turn on my laptop i get a black screen with a blue banner asking for admistrator or power on password. I never set a power on password and all other passwords i have tried just bring up a invalid password banner. How can i fix this?

Few more details. After 3 false entries i got a system diabled banner. Code is 50511872

I know we used to provide Disabled Bypass Codes -- but we don't do that anymore.

I wish we could help you, but sorry, due to recent changes in Community policy, we are no longer able to provide any assistance with password reset or recovery issues.

Also please note that now, to resolve a forgotten BIOS password issue, a system board replacement is required -- and additional customer costs apply, HP has issued this post about BIOS passwords: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.

So in other words, the laptop that i spent a good deal of money on, and has randomly started doing crazy stuff, is going to cost me more money to be able to use. Great customer support. Nothing against you personally WAWood. I understand that it was not your decision.
