Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to dual boot Linux on my laptop with Windows 10, but while installing it, it does not detect the hard disk.

I need to access advanced BIOS settings or the intel RAID settings to fix this.

I have the latest BIOS installed and it has advanced settings locked. Please tell me how I can access it.

@AdvancedBIOS

Sorry, but apart from business notebooks and some high-end gaming PCs, accessing Advanced BIOS option on HP PCs is not possible.

Some OEMs lock out the advanced BIOS options to prevent customers from making changes to options that can destabilize or otherwise damage the PC -- and then send it back for repair under warranty claiming they did nothing to it.

I know only SOME of the advanced options are risky, but it's simpler to disable access to ALL advanced options than to allow/disallow on an individual option basis.

That's the course of action that HP has chosen. No one from here is going to provide you any means of getting around that.

Thats just stupid.. so I can't even dual boot?

It's fine if I won't be able to access the advanced BIOS I just want to dual boot.

I want to keep the existing Windows 10, and add Fedora as a secondary. The problem is, that while installing, it does not detect the existing hard-drive. People in the community have told me to put in AHCI mode to solve it, which is in advanced BIOS. Is there any other way?

Side note I wanted to buy the HP Omen 15 in a few days, if the same thing applies to it (not being able to dual boot) I'd have to look for some other laptop instead..
