Hello, after a drop my laptop won't turn on.  I openned it (can't affort to have it sent out right now), and the USB mouse was pushed in when it dropped and it seemed that it affected the power button which is to the right.  When I first opened the laptop, I was able to push  what the power button doesn't seem to reach and it turned on.  However, by mistake I shot down the computer instead of restart and now it won't turn on.  Please help my school files are there (I'm an elementary teacher)

Thanks in advance for any assistance you might provide.

Except for a very few, specially designed and built PCs, laptops are not designed to survive being dropped.

At the very least, the drive has almost certainly been damaged, but destruction could also include motherboard cracks as well as screen or circuit cracks.

The ONLY way to know for sure is to take or send it to an HP Service Center and pay a LOT of money for them to run full diagnostics on it, and after that, to disassemble it to repair or replace any damaged components.

And, if the motherboard is damaged, the cost of repair can easily exceed the cost of replacing the laptop -- because (as far as I know) liquid spill damage is NOT covered under the warranty.
