After falling, laptop won't load past black screen with cursor. Keypad shortcuts don't work

My dog decided to jump off my bed and take my laptop with him. It fell about two and a half feet onto my carpet and the battery came out.

I put the battery back in and restarted the laptop. It loads the HP loading screen with the circling dots, but then goes to a black backlighted screen with a movable cursor. The cursor is a blue loading circle.

I did a hard reset with the battery out and restarted but that also did nothing. It still loads to the black screen.

I've tried getting to the BIOS screen, task manager, and safe mode but none of them open when I press the keys for them.

I've seen lots of posts on how to fix it by getting to those screens, but since I cannot, is there any other way?

Dropping a laptop could give unpredictable damages. In your case can be any but most likely the HDD (if laptop was on at that time).

I can't touch tou your laptop now therefore very hard to say. My suggestion: bring it to a repairer and ask. This could be a minor repair to throwing it to a bin as I mentioned above: unpredictable.
