Laptop was taking a bios update. Once it was complete, it shut down. I cannot start it up again. No lights anywhere including power port. Tried the reset of power by holding the power button; also tried the Windows + B key & power button, no response. Worked perfectly before taking the bios update!

Hi @DB0047,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Pavilion laptop after a BIOS update. It's important to note that BIOS updates can sometimes be risky, and if something goes wrong during the update process, it can result in the laptop becoming unresponsive.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check the Power Source: Make sure your laptop is properly connected to a power source. Ensure that the power adapter is plugged in and the outlet is working. Try using a different power outlet or power adapter if possible.
- Hard Reset: Disconnect the laptop from the power source and remove the battery if it's removable (some laptops have non-removable batteries). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reconnect the power adapter (without the battery) and try turning on the laptop.
- BIOS Recovery (if available): Some HP laptops have a BIOS recovery feature that can help if a BIOS update fails. To perform a BIOS recovery, you typically need to press a specific key combination or use a BIOS recovery USB drive provided by HP. Refer to your laptop's manual or HP's website for instructions on how to perform a BIOS recovery for your specific model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
