Hp Omen Model: 15t-ax200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Today I attempted to upgrade my ram from a single 8 gig DDR4 2400 card to two 8 gig DDR4 3200 cards

After replacing the cards I went to boot my laptop up again. The boot was unsuccessful and the screen was just black for a long period of time. I turned it off and then turned it back on again and got a blue recovery screen for a moment. There were a few options and while i was reading them the screen went black and i believe it reset once to then give me a blank screen. The blank screen is coupled with my capps lock light blinking in a two long blinks two short blinks sequence.

The 2.2 blinking means "The main area (DXE) of BIOS has become corrupted, and there is no recovery binary image available. (Also happens when updating the BIOS.)" and the solution is to perform BIOS recovery with external media. I got the proper BIOS onto a flash drive and plugged it into my omen. I held the windows key and the B key and turned my laptop on after a few on off cycles the screen came on and it was black with small writing in the top left corner saying that i needed to plug a usb device with BIOS downloaded onto it. After a few moments on this screen everything went black again.

I turned off the laptop and attempted this process again, now i get nothing and the screen is just blank. When the USB is not plugged in i still get the CAPS light 2.2 blinking and then the USB is plugged in it just stays blank. I do not know where to go from here any suggestions?

Thank you for your time, Adam

@WhAdam You've done all the relevant steps, to confirm, you've gone through this article to identify the blinks and then, performed a BIOS recovery using an external media as mentioned here, and yet the issue persists, if yes, it looks like there's a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

here's how private messages work: Click here for details.

P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

If you wish to thank me for my efforts, you could click on "Accept as solution" on my post as the solution should help others too.
