BIOS password locked - laptop from firm acquisition

HP Probook 450 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The laptop was from an acquisition - the company / users do not remember setting a password.  HP Business Support stated they no longer will reset passwords.  I need to enable UEFI boot to re-image the laptop, but can not get into BIOS since a password is in place.  Thoughts?  I do not get a lock-out code when I try hitting <enter> three times like other posts are stating.  Just a notice that I have to power off and back on since it's locked.

BIOS password locked - laptop from firm acquisition

Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to help you, since HP will no longer supply the required SMC.bin file that is used to clear the BIOS password.

That was the only way it could be done.

Most HP business notebooks including the one you have, do not generate system disabled codes.

Also, removing the CMOS battery will not clear the P/W.

HP issued this document recently...

The forum rules were amended on 1 March 2019, which no longer allow us to help with removing passwords.
Rule 4.d...

d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.

Therefore, this topic is being locked.
