BSOD with critical process died error code

Pavillion M6-1045dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
Hi. My laptop receives the bsod within 5-10 minutes of startup and then it says critical process died. Sometimes when it restarts it says no bootable device found and press f2 for diagnostics. When in that menu it says no hard disk inserted so it can't run any tests. When I am finally able to run the deets smart check doesn't find any errors but it's not able to run long dst because it will shut off saying no hard disk inserted. Also sometimes when booting it says can't read device. Press ctrl alt delete to retry.

I suppose it's a faulty hard drive. I am expecting to replace it but I also wanting to know if it's possible to keep the internal hard drive and just use an external hard drive to store the windows OS and boot from there.

Thanks!

BSOD with critical process died error code

Hi,

Looks like failed drive.

I don't think there is really a plausible solution:
Try http://bootableusb.net/make-bootable-external-hdd-install-windows-78/

I would suggest you to boot from new internal HDD :
Use recovery media to factory reset Windows. Order them from HP or 3rd party sellers:
http://computersurgeons.com/p-21738-windows-7-64b-recovery-kit-694679-001-for-hp-pavilion-entertainm...

Or you could also clean install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, that came with your laptop, using Paul Tikkanen's suggestion in here:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/want-windows-7-back/td-p/592555...

Install instructions: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html

BSOD with critical process died error code

Dear Visruth,i am having the MOST infuriating and hopeless Time of my life with the HP 360 LAPTOP. Just a couple of weeks ago, out of nowhere, the screen freezes and this very BLUE looking screen screams at me saying xritical error and that its going to aitomatically restart upon fizing whatever aeems to be the ailment. Well...it wouldnt restart whike i woukd wait and wait and wait. Then i would lose patience and restatt it kyself. Thennit would be dime dor about a minute or so and back to rhe **bleep** blue screen again and critical error and it cant find the OS. At other times it saysbits going to find a solution then shows me a keyboard layout with choices. None seem to be the solution i need, and in advanced options i see system restore, system image recovery, start up repair, command prompt, UEFI firmware settings, or go back to previous settings. I AM STUMPED AND NEED TO BOTHER THE ONLY PERSON WHOM I THINK IS ABLE TO OFFER ME SOME ADVICE! Thanks ever so much!

@Asifshah

Do an extensive hard drive and memory test from System Diagnostics in UEFI/BIOS by tapping f2 key or ESC key as soon as you power on laptop.

Let the diagnostics tests finish completely. It'll take some time.

Let me know the results.
