Backlit time-out

Hello!

The keyboard backlit turns off every 30 seconds on my Spectre when I do not type anything, which annoys me when I work in a dark environment. Would you know if there is a way to fix this? I did not find any setting to set the backlit time-out.

Unfortunately,

No "fix".

The computer is made that way (time out every few seconds of no activity).

The "Advanced" section in the BIOS to set the timeout to "never" does not exist in your consumer grade notebook.

Long Discussion... explanation

In general, and there might be exceptions,

• Business class computers offer the BIOS Advanced section. 
• Examples of business class systems include and are not limited to:  Zbook Mobile Workstations, ProBook, EliteBook, and others.

For example

• The backlit keyboard timeout option is included in the Advanced section as appropriate (assuming system has a backlit keyboard).

• At this writing, consumer class systems do not include the Advanced BIOS section.
• Examples of consumer grade systems include and are not limited to:  Spectre, Pavilion, Envy, Notebook.

BIOS configurations vary depending on the computer. For further information on a specific computer, refer to the documentation provided with the computer or go to the appropriate document for your PC.

Thanks for your answer. It's no big deal, I guess they did so to save battery life but I would have liked to have the option at least when the PC is plugged.
