HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc109na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop works normally but when the battery is low, it switches off without warning me to connect it to the mains power. Sometimes, it warns me that my battery is low but then when I connect the power to the laptop, the laptop turns off the moment I plug it in.

When I turn it back on, the laptop indicates that the battery is 0% charged. This is why it switches off. But, it should not discharge completely without giving me a warning in advance,

@Saagar1

What you describe could be the battery not charging or not holding a charge and/or the charger not working.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00259897
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03325217
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00363266?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0006

If those confirm the battery is not charging or not holding a charge, you would need to replace it.

If those confirm the charger is not working, you would need to replace that.

If both the battery and charger check out OK, then it's an internal problem with the circuitry in the laptop, and unless the laptop is still under warranty, it's likely to cost more to fix that than to replace the laptop, outright.

Good Luck

Thank you for your reply.

I would like to clarify that when I do connect the charger to the laptop, the battery does recharge till its full. Hence, I believe that the charger and the battery are working.

However, it is just that when the battery is low, it does not warn me in advance that it needs to be recharged but it instead switches off automatically.
