EliteBook 2570p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Has anyone found a way to reset the bios on the EliteBook 2570p? HP used to send a bin file to do this but they will no longer send one because of security issues. Our school was donated a batch of these systems but the bios is locked and the camera is disabled. I need to enable the camera so we can use them for remote learning. Unplugging the bios battery does not reset it.

Messing with the CMOS battery in a laptop accomplishes nothing -- it is totally unlike a desktop.

We are not permitted to assist in resetting passwords due to HP Policy.

For BIOS or power-on password resets, because the password is encoded onto a chip on the motherboard, replacement of that motherboard is required. HP does not reset the BIOS password on the current motherboard.

If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard, you would have to take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- but we can not assist in that in any way.
