14-fqOO46nr laptop from 2021 went to black screen while plugged In and working. It’s barely been used since new (because it’s infuriatingly slow).  I tried unplugging all accessories, holding power for 15+ seconds, plugging in only the power supply and powering back up. On power up all I get is power light on left side of laptop (solid on) and flashing caps lock that is doing 5 slow and 3 rapid flashes over and over forever. Tried it several times. I Never upgraded to win 11 because this machine barely runs 10. It would lag horribly even just running two or 3 basic apps like a word document, Grammarly, and a pdf, to the point I was waiting for characters to show up while typing. It appeared windows defender was hogging all the RAM.  It’s been slow since day one. Upgraded ram from 4gig to 8 gig max which improved it only slightly. It’s been asking for updates the last few times I used it but I hadn’t given it permission to do them yet. Any suggestions?

Please try a hard reset and see if it works.

  • Power off your notebook,
  • Remove the a/c adapter, battery and everything that is attached to your notebook,
  • Hold the 'POWER' button down on your notebook for about 10 seconds,
  • Plug in the a/c power supply (without battery) and power on.

Regards.
