Black screen after BIOS update Pavilion 11x360

Pavilion 11 x 360
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

After a recommended BIOS update, I got now a persistent black screen. What can I do?

Solved!

Black screen after BIOS update Pavilion 11x360

@Xarly,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Let's start off by performing a Hard reset on the notebook

Before power resetting your computer, do the following:

  1. Disconnect or remove all peripheral devices. Start up the laptop and test the computer by itself, and then reconnect one peripheral device at a time.

  2. Turn over the computer and look for a battery compartment door.

I would suggest you try to perform a Bios recovery on your PC.

For more details, please refer to this support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System)

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!

Black screen after BIOS update Pavilion 11x360

In the meanwhile I solved the problem. First I had to drain the batery completely, since it is not removable. Then I pluged the laptop again and once I pressed ON I pressed also F10 and had access to the BIOS settings. Then I "exit and discard changes" and everything was back to normal!

Thanks anyway to this community support where I get these clues to solve the problem.
