Hi @Rushi07 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the blink pattern you're describing on your HP Laptop 15s-fq5112TU, where the Caps Lock blinks 3 long blinks and 2 short blinks, indicates a specific hardware issue. Based on HP's blink code diagnostics, this combination generally points to a BIOS corruption issue. Here are steps to troubleshoot and attempt to resolve the problem:

Step 1: Hard Reset the Laptop

  1. Power off the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any external peripherals (USB drives, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the AC adapter (without connecting any peripherals) and try turning on the laptop.

Step 2: Attempt a BIOS Recovery

Since this issue is related to BIOS corruption, try the following steps to recover the BIOS:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key + B (or V for some models).
  3. While holding these keys, press and hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds, then release the power button but continue to hold the Windows key and the B (or V) key.
  4. If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions to recover the BIOS.

Step 3: Reseat the Memory (RAM)

In some cases, issues with the memory (RAM) can cause a similar blink pattern. Try reseating the RAM:

  1. Power off the laptop and disconnect the power cable.
  2. Remove the back panel of the laptop (you may need a screwdriver).
  3. Locate the RAM sticks, gently remove them from the slots, and reseat them firmly.
  4. Reassemble the laptop and try powering it on again.

Step 4: Perform a BIOS Update via USB (if possible)

If the BIOS recovery doesn't work, you can try updating the BIOS via a USB:

  1. Download the latest BIOS for your specific HP laptop model from the HP Support website.
  2. Create a bootable USB drive with the BIOS file following the instructions provided by HP.
  3. Insert the USB into the laptop and boot using the USB (you may need to press F10 or Esc during startup to access the boot menu).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
