Hi, i accidentally installed the wrong bios then it got stuck. But i can see activity on the screen but i cannot perform any action using my mouse or keyboard. Then i remove the battery and unplug the ac adapter. Then the screen shows nothing, but the caps lock led blinking 2 times. I tried the recovery using a key combination windows key+b but no luck. Then I try to move to the next step. But when I tried to install it, there is no option to install it on a usb drive. Instead it gives me a message that my other laptop did not supported (which is of course obviously). So any solution?

Hi @SulthanQintara,

Hi! Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

As I understand that you are having a BIOS issue and you have done some preliminary troubleshooting.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details.

Are you able to login to windows?

If the capslock light blinks 2 times it means that the BIOS is corrupted on the Laptop.

You can refer to this article and continue from Step 2 in a proper order to resolve the issue.

Click on this link to download the correct and latest version of BIOS for your laptop.

If the issue persists after trying the steps mention in the document.

I would personally suggest you contact our HP Phone Support for further assistance. If your product is Out of warranty then remember to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.

They might have multiple options to help you on this.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Hi @SulthanQintara, I am the Mr.Robot. It looks like you were interacting with @Jeet_singh, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.

It's great to hear from you again. I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned you still have issues trying out the steps.

Please try few steps recommended below.

Turn off the notebook.
Plug the notebook into a power source using the power adapter.
With the notebook off, press and hold the Windows logo key and the B key at the same time.
   NOTE:
On some notebook models, it might be necessary to press and hold the Windows logo key and the V key.
While pressing those keys, press and hold the Power button on the computer for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the Power button but continue to hold the Windows logo key and the B or V key until the HP BIOS update screen displays or you hear a beeping sound (usually 8 beeps).
The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the BIOS update begins automatically. This might take several minutes, and you might hear additional beeping sounds.
If the HP BIOS Update screen does not display, repeat the previous steps. If the issue persists after repeating the steps, skip to the next step to Download a replacement BIOS file.
If the Power light turns off, the notebook has turned off because the Power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure to hold the Power button for 2 to 3 seconds only.
If your notebook starts Windows, update the BIOS to the latest version using the standard BIOS update procedure. For more information about updating your notebook BIOS, go to Updating the BIOS (Notebooks).
Click Continue Startup to prompt the notebook to restart immediately, or allow the notebook to restart automatically when the timer reaches zero.
After the notebook restarts, press Enter to continue.
   NOTE:
If the notebook repeatedly displays a message that the BIOS has been recovered, go to HP BIOS Application Selected is Corrupt or Missing for troubleshooting steps.
After Windows starts, if a message displays stating that the notebook was improperly shut down or that a boot problem was detected, follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue still persists It looks like the BIOS on your PC has got corrupted.

Please contact HP support for service options.

Link to contact HP.

I'll watch your reply!

Have a great day ahead! 🙂

I've seen this problem a lot on the internet and I've found the solution. Black screen with the caps lock blinking twice apparently means the BIOS is corrupt.  Solution is to do a flash of the BIOS from a USB drive.  I had the issue, I've re-installed the BIOS using the following method laptop has successfully booted every time since.

Here's how it's done.

Easy peasy
